Mrs Denise Skinner
Fellow Examiner for IDTA and a British Federation Adjudicator. Miss Denise is a member of both the Theatre Craft and Musical theatre faculties for the IDTA, and lectures internationally. Co-principal of the school which was established in 1991, Miss Denise is a passionate and experienced teacher who is extremely well regarded in the local and national dance world. Recently nominated for a prestigious Carl Alan award for services to Dance Teaching.
Miss Cheryl Dodd
Fellow IDTA, Certificate in Education and dance festival adjudicator. Miss Cheryl became co-principal in 2010 after teaching at the school since 1999. Having had a professional career dancing around the world, teaching always being her passion, she has extended her qualifications from the IDTA to gain the Certificate in Education and now also teaches in West Cheshire College in Ellesmere Port, teaching the BTEC Levels 2-5 in Performing Arts Dance, as well as the IDTA qualifications and the teacher training programme.
Mr James Templeton
Our resident drama and singing coach trained at Mount View College in London, and has appeared in a number of West End shows, including “Jesus Christ Super Star” and “Blood Brothers”, TV productions and much much more. We are very lucky to have him on our team!
Miss Becky Anderson
Miss Becky was a student at WTS and trained with us from a very young age, achieving many awards and success as a dancer oncluding reaching the Miss Dance of Geeat Britain finals. Miss Becky gained her teachers qualifications with the IDTA before going on to gain a degree in English and Drama at loughborough University.
Miss Becky then went on to complete her PGCE, and is now a full time teacher of English and drama at a high school in Wales.
We are very lucky to have her teaching our Saturday production team with her expertease in both dance and drama, she is the perfect link with James to train our performers to the highest standard as the triple threat.
Miss Amy Clarke
Miss Amy trained for her IDTA teachers qualifications at West Cheshire College during her HNC in performing Arts with Miss Cheryl as one of the coaches. During this process it was clear the passion and qualities she shows as a teacher are just what we wanted at WTS, so we snatched her up!
Teaching both gymnastic skills and Street Dance, both students and parents alike are excited and thrilled to have her on the team.
We have Guest Teachers and Lecturers throughout the year and at our annual summer school.
Students have gone on to professional careers in West End Productions, including the much loved Mary Poppins, Matilda, A Chorus Line, working alongside Eastenders John Partridge, and many more.
